iPhone reception problems and AT&T
Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

The iPhone is the greatest cellphone there is, no doubt about it. I have had so many cellphones, and this is by far the most advanced, user-friendly phone I’ve owned. There is a big problem I have with it though, reception. AT&T is probably the worst company I have been with as far as reception goes, and to top it off, their customer service is just plain horrible. Raising the bar? I don’t see the bar, how are you supposed to raise it AT&T? Makes absolutely no sense.

I have been calling AT&T for the past weeks telling them how bad their reception is, and they tell me I’m not supposed to be getting any dropped calls in my area. Well guess what AT&T, all lies. There was a point where I wanted to just cancel my iPhone service, and go back to Verizon, which has excellent reception anywhere I’ve been. I remember getting stuck in the desert about 30 miles west of Yuma, CA. I had reception with Verizon then! Anyway, last time I spoke to a manager at AT&T, and he told me he was going to do the best he could to get some techs to check the towers near my area, haven’t heard from him since, and my reception hasn’t gotten any better.

iPhone not loud enough? Tell it to the FCC
Thursday, September 20th, 2007

“A group representing people with a hearing loss filed complaints with the U.S. Federal Communications Commission last month, accusing Apple Inc. of not making its iPhone compatible with hearing aids.

The Hearing Loss Association of America, a Bethesda, Md., advocacy group, filed formal complaints with the FCC in August, Brenda Battat, the HLAA’s associate executive director, said in e-mailed comments about Apple’s iPhone. ‘The phone [is] not usable with a hearing aid, either on the microphone or telecoil setting,’ said Battat. ‘Clearly, it was not designed to be hearing aid compatible. It should have been.’ ” Per ComputerWorld
