Wait. So, I'm supposed to drop another $200-400 for a signal booster so my iPhone actually works!! Is the iPhone really worth all that?

I agree with everything said about AT&T. I was actually looking into changing services when the iPhone came out. I chose the iPhone over decent signal. The reception was so bad that I almost said 'screw it' and was about to get rid of it. My friend told me about a signal booster called the Zboost(you can find then at:www.wi-ex.com). Its a wireless box that you install (very easily, might I add) in your home. After plugging it all in my iPhone began to actually work...it was like a Christmas miracle. Before you give up AT&T and the iPhone I would try one of these things. Worked for me.

That's too bad Marty, I had great reception with my Treo 700p that I used to own. That sad thing is, AT&T won't admit how bad their service is, and they make customers think it's their fault. One of the things I hated coming out of their mouths was when they would tell me, "this is a MOBILE phone" not intended to act as a phone for your home like a landline.

I had a Treo 650 which has terrible reception with Verizon but it is usable most of the time. After researching the ATT web maps of my area I bought an iPhone. I absolutely loved it, when it worked. Problem is I had no, I mean no bars, reception at home. So I returned it to Apple after a week, full refund was easy. ATT was hell, their customer service is soo bad, the worst. I won't own an iPhone until it's available on Verizon.
